real moms...

Know the value of a good haircut.

Some just have to learn the hard way.

P.S. Sorry, Little Guy! Mommy promises not to ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, EVER try to cut your hair again!

I tag Val, Anne, and MIM (just cuz I'm dying to hear more parenting tips from her!!!).

It wasn't so bad that my mother cut my hair -- it was when she used the wrong sized bowl that we had real difficulties....

WHAT DID YOU DO TO THAT POOR BOY?!?!

Yes, that was in all caps. We saw him Sunday afternoon and he was cute, you put a bowl on his head and now he will have these pictures for LIFE! lmao.

I like to think that I was trying to protect him from the injury that I remember so vividly as a child -- the toe twisting pain of cold steel pinching the top of the ear as Mom gave me my yearly trim. Thus the reeeeeeealy high cut on the left hand side. The sad, sad truth is that if I had used a bowl, the ear not only would have been protected, but we might not have gotten the lovely half-mullet effect. Yes indeedy, if you look at him from the right side of his head, his hair is short but normal (i.e. tapers gently down to his ear). From the left? Short all the way back to just above his ear -- all business up front with a party going on in the back. My poor baby!
